INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITIONS & AWARDS

“The Raun Raun Theatre is a traditional Highlands-style roundhouse, constructed with a blend of indigenous and modern materials. In 1986, it received the Papua New Guinea Institute of Architects Merit Award. The theatre is also illustrated in A History of Architecture by Sir Banister Fletcher and in World Architecture 1900–2000: A Critical Mosaic, Vol. 10 Southeast Asia & Oceania. In 1999, it was further recognized through publications by Springer Wien New York and China Architecture & Building Press, establishing its creator as a distinguished figure in cultural and traditional architecture in Papua New Guinea.”
